Ian Smith, BSc
Executive Chairman

Mr Smith has a background in sharebroking, investment banking, private capital investment and corporate governance in both New Zealand and Australia over the last 25 plus years. This has given him considerable practical experience in assisting management teams to grow both startup and existing businesses, financial experience in raising funds and bringing businesses to the capital markets, restructuring experience repositioning both public and private companies and corporate governance experience with both private and public companies. He is presently a director of a large number of private companies in New Zealand and Australia, and previously has held position of Chairman of various listed public companies.

John Cahill
Resource Director

After completing a Bachelor of Science degree at the Bendigo College in 1983, John commenced work with 3D's Goldmines N.L. followed by 4 years with Bendigo Mining N.L. working on alluvial and hard rock projects.
Following this John spent several years as a contract geologist, before moving on to 10 years at Bendigo Mining N.L. working on the New Bendigo Gold Project.

John has been involved in open cut exploration, diamond drilling programs, bulk sampling, historical research, dewatering programs and concept generation and planning.

Wayne Johnson
Independent Director

Wayne has over 25 years business and financial transaction experience gained in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and North America.

Wayne has founded and helped manage a range of businesses from startups through to public listings and has been responsible for a number of large business sales in the financial services, technology and telecommunications industries to multinational buyers.

Wayne provides a wealth of experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate advisory and general business development to the board. Wayne is the principal of Nobleman Ventures, a boutique corporate advisory and investment firm based from Sydney. He is also the Chairman of ASX listed Cape Range Limited and an Independent Director of SmartPay Limited listed on the NZX.

Paul H. K. Chan
Independent Director

Paul Chan has accumulated over 30 years of experience investing and operating businesses in China, Asia and the US. With his extensive business background and knowledge in the Asia Pacific region, Paul joined Prestige International Investment Ltd, an investment banking firm based in the US, in 1996, in charge of project investment in Asia.

Paul joined Yorkshire Capital Limited as Project Director in 2001. He has been responsible for accessing project feasibility, corporate restructuring, business and financial advisory for various projects. In recent years, Paul has been focusing on gold mining projects and involved in reviewing, accessing, structuring, advising and fund raising for mining projects in base metals and other natural resources worldwide. 

Eric J P Ng
Independent Director

Mr Ng has been the Principal Consultant of Chadway Management Service Pte Ltd since 1982. He is responsible for providing operational management, planning and executing growth strategies, merger and acquisitions activities and corporate finance services to companies in Singapore and the region.

He also advises on business growth and globalisation strategies, capital market and corporate governance issues and is an active capital market intermediary matching capital with business. Chadway also provides advisory services for companies in their listing via an IPO or RTO on SGX and ASX.

Andy Lai
Independent Director

Andy Lai, Managing Director of Yorkshire Capital Limited a merchant bank operation since 1993, has been responsible for numerous IPO and RTO cases worldwide and numerous M&A and financing projects with total value of over US$3 billion.  In recent years, his focus is in mining and resources business covering financing, investment & M&A initiatives.  He is an MBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. 

Stuart Hall, BBA; CA
Independent Director / Company Secretary

Mr Stuart D Hall has been Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (CA) since 1984. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) Swinburne University 1980. Stuart has been a Partner/Director of the accounting firm Lipins Partners Pty Ltd and antecedent firms since 1984.

During this period Stuart has specialised in business advisory, management accounting, tax advice and compliance. He has also held company directorships/secretarial positions with a number of SME's in Australia covering many industries including manufacturing, service, mining and general insurance.

His experience has included maintaining various corporations' compliance requirements with ASIC.
